Bishop Dean Nelson

The Frederick Douglass Foundation and The Douglass Leadership Institute (DLI). The Douglass Leadership Institute (DLI) is a national education and public policy 501(c)(3) organization with representatives and groups across the United States. DLI’s philosophy is based upon the sanctity of human life, the promotion of free market principles, and limited government.  Founded in 2015, DLI is the brainchild of Dean Nelson, a minister and veteran political and pro-life leader.

Bishop Nelson is a sought-after speaker and has appeared on the 700 Club, CBN News, MSNBC, Bott Radio Network and American Family Radio. To learn more about Bishop Nelson and DLI visit www.dlinstitute.org, and for the Human Coalition visit www.humancoalition.org.

Bishop Garland Hunt

Garland R. Hunt , an Atlanta native, is a proven strategic leader with a dynamic ministry background and extensive experience in leadership, management, and pastoral care. After completing a B.A. from Howard University in 1980 and J.D from Howard University Law School in 1983, he served as a judicial law clerk and staff attorney with the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

In 2010, Hunt was commissioner of the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. In 2011, he served as president of Prison Fellowship.
In March 2015, Bishop Wellington Boone installed Bishop Hunt as Senior Pastor of the Father’s House. Each week, Bishop Hunt demonstrates his pastor’s heart through his passionate preaching and vibrant leadership. In case you were wondering… Bishop Hunt is a die-hard Falcons and Hawks fan!

Dr. Robert L. Woodson, Sr.

Robert L. Woodson, Sr. founded the Center in 1981 to help residents of low-income neighborhoods address the problems of their communities. A former civil rights activist, he has headed the National Urban League Department of Criminal Justice, and has been a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Foundation for Public Policy Research. Referred to by many as “godfather” of the neighborhood empowerment movement, for more than four decades, Woodson has had a special concern for the problems of youth. In response to an epidemic of youth violence that has afflicted urban, rural and suburban neighborhoods alike, Woodson has focused much of the Woodson Center’s activities on an initiative to establish Violence-Free Zones in troubled schools and neighborhoods throughout the nation. He is an early MacArthur “genius” awardee and the recipient of the 2008 Bradley Prize, the Presidential Citizens Award, and a 2008 Social Entrepreneurship Award from the Manhattan Institute.

Bishop Patrick Wooden

Bishop Patrick L. Wooden Sr.  is a soul-stirring gospel preacher and an influential voice for God who courageously speaks about the moral and social issues of our day. He concerns himself with delivering a word that is biblically relevant and life changing without focusing upon what is popular or politically correct. Bishop Wooden has been the pastor of Upper Room for over 34 years and leads with love, compassion, strength and sincerity. He takes seriously his responsibility as a “watchman on the wall” keeping the congregants informed so that they will not be deceived. He often says, “I love you enough to tell you the truth.” He is also a significant voice in the community, known as a voice for the voiceless.
