What is the Our Faith, Our Family, Our Freedom Conference?

DLI’s Our Faith, Our Family, Our Freedom Conference will gather community, faith, and civic leaders from around the southeast for three days of dynamic worship, networking, and discussion of solutions that strengthen the Black family, support criminal justice reform, and secure economic and educational opportunities for all.

Join us for an evening of fantastic food, fabulous fellowship and networking with Christian business and community leaders. The winners of our DLI Pitch Competition will be announced. All-Access conference registrations include admission to the Gala. Tickets can also be purchased separately.

Dream Big & Own It Pitch Competition

The purpose of this competition is to inspire, educate and invest in the next generation of entrepreneurs. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three highest-rated contestants in the final round of the pitch competition. First prize is $5,000.

Rory Comtois is a dynamic, talented worship leader who thrives on worship, praise, and reaching people for the kingdom of God across the country and around the world—using the incredible power of music.

 

Comtois invests heavily in the next generation by inspiring kids to live for Jesus at an early age—teaching practical truths using worship and the arts. Rory and his wife Michelle are committed to seeing children of all ages, including their own come to know God in a more personal and powerful way.

Pastor Darrian Summerville is a gifted singer and musician and a widely recognized speaker in the body of Christ. He has served in full-time ministry since 2011. Pastor Summerville is the co-founder and National Director of the Moravian Watch, a global movement of intercessors and watchmen, who with video-conference technology, model out a modern expression of interconnected prayer. This intercessory prayer unites cities, states, nations, and countries all across the globe in the watches of the night.

 

Over the last 12 years, Pastor Summerville has served in numerous ministries and parachurch organizations. He has worked as a campus director, and worship leader, as well as a national mobilizer of prayer in numerous gatherings across the nation. Pastor Summerville recently felt the call of God to plant City Servant’s Church in Reston, Virginia. He resides in Gainesville, Virginia with his wife, Greta, and their four children.

Shawn Welcome

Poet

Shawn Welcome’s goal is to use his gift with words to inspire, entertain, encourage, and educate the world around him. He has traveled the world speaking, performing, and facilitating writing and performance workshops. Welcome has dedicated his life to serving others and amplifying the voice of his community. He founded and presently hosts Diverse Word, the longest-running weekly open mic in Central Florida, which has been in operation since 2006.

 

Welcome has written NBA commercials for the Orlando Magic, and written and performed content for the Orlando Business Journal, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Edyth Bush Institute, and Full Sail University, among others. He has also curated multiple educational poetry experiences for numerous educational institutions. Welcome currently serves as President of the Next Level Speakers Academy – Orlando Chapter, continuing to strengthen a community of aspiring professional speakers. He is a long-time Orlando resident and University of Central Florida graduate.

Bishop Larry Jackson is the founding pastor of Bethel Outreach International Church in Charlotte, NC. He currently serves as a regional bishop for the Fellowship of International Churches (Bishop Wellington Boone, Founder, and National Bishop) in the southeastern region of the United States and the Vice President of Strategic Planning. Bishop Jackson is a nationally known Promise Keepers speaker and has also ministered across the nation and internationally as a keynote speaker in conferences conducted by Global Harvest Ministries. Bishop Jackson is the founder and president of Frontliners Men’s Ministries, a ministry designed to bring men to the front lines of what God is doing. Bishop Jackson is the author of several books including Numbered with the Transgressors, Guilt Free Living, The Power is in the Closet, and Beyond Reconciliation.

 

Bishop Larry Jackson is also the founder and president of several companies including, Shachah Records, Kingdom Writers and Music Association, and Kingdom Distribution Network. Bishop Larry Jackson is a man who is in passionate pursuit of the Father. His zeal, energy, and fortitude speak of his wholehearted commitment to the Lord. Bishop Jackson and his wife Joanndra reside in Charlotte, NC, with their daughters.

FAQ

Is there a link to book my hotel room at Heritage?

No. Please call 803-802-5544 Ext 200 and mention you are attending the DLI Conference to make your reservation. However, there are links to our secondary hotels, which are close to the main venue.

Where is the nearest major airport to Heritage?

Charlotte/Douglas International Airport (CLT). It is approximately eighteen miles from the venue. There is no shuttle service, so please plan to Uber or take a taxi.

Are meals included in the registration?

Lunch with an Affinity Group is included in your registration. Please make your selection (one per day) when you register on Eventbrite, based on your interest:

Coffee and pastries will be offered before the morning session.

Dinner on Friday is On Your Own. However, there are two cafes on the grounds where meals and snacks can be purchased.
